IRISH PRETZEL SALAD | |
2 c. crushed pretzels 3/4 c. softened butter 4 tbsp. sugar 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese 1 c. sugar 1 pkg. Dream Whip or 2 c. Cool Whip 1 (6 oz.) pkg. strawberry gelatin 2 pkg. ( 10 oz. ea.) frozen sliced strawberries 2 c. boiling water Dissolve gelatin in boiling water. Stir in frozen strawberries until dissolved. Set aside. Mix crushed pretzels with 4 tablespoons sugar and melted butter. Place in bottom of ungreased 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan. Bake at 400 degrees for 8 minutes. Do not overbake. Cream together cream cheese and the cup of sugar until smooth and fluffy. Fold in prepared Dream Whip of Cool Whip. Spread over baked pretzel bottom. Pour gelatin mixture over cheese mixture. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Best if made a day ahead. |
