FIVE MINUTE STEAK SANDWICH | |
4 slices bread butter prepared mustard 1/2 lb. chopped beef or hamburger 1/4 c. milk salt and pepper 1 tbsp. onion, chopped Toast bread on one side only. Spread the untoasted side generously with soft butter and spread lightly with prepared mustard. To each 1/2 pound of meat, add 1/4 cup milk, salt, pepper and onion. Mix well. Spread the meat on the untoasted and buttered side of bread. Broil, meat side up, until done. Serve on a plate, garnished with tomato slices. Note: It is important that the meat cover the entire slice all the way to the edge of the crust, otherwise the edge will get too brown in the time it takes to cook the meat. If you don't have a broiler the sandwiches may be grilled in a skillet. Makes 4 sandwiches. Submitted by: Marguerite Orosz |
