ANGEL BISCUITS
5 c. unsifted flour
1 c. shortening
1 pkg. dry yeast
1 tbsp. baking powder
2 tbsp. warm water
1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 1/4 tsp. salt
2 c. buttermilk, room temperature

Sift dry ingredients together. Dissolve yeast in 2 tablespoon warm water. Add to buttermilk. Cut shortening into dry ingredients. Stir buttermilk-yeast mixture into flour mixture and mix well. Turn out on lightly floured board and add flour if needed for soft dough.

Roll out 1/4 inch thick. Cut with biscuit cutter and dip into melted butter and fold over. Bake in a preheated 400 degree oven for 15 minutes. Bake without letting rise. The dough maybe kept in the refrigerator until needed. Also, good with raisins added.
