NAVY BEAN SOUP 
1 lb. little white beans
1/2 c. celery leaves or sliced celery
1 or 2 grated carrots
1 med. onion, chopped
1/2 tsp. pepper
Salt to taste

Soak beans overnight. Bring to boil. Cool and drain (this helps prevent flatcelence). Cover beans, celery, carrots and onions with water and cook until almost tender. Add 1 pound meaty ham bones or ham pieces with seasonings and cook until tender. A slow cooker is ideal for this recipe.
