LOVE KNOTS 
4 c. flour
1 c. shortening or 1/2 shortening and 1/2 butter
1 c. sugar
4 egg yolks
1/2 c. thick sour cream
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt

Beat eggs until creamy in color. Add sour cream and sugar to beaten egg yolks. Add shortening. Add flour slowly. Let stand in refrigerator at least 1 hour. Then shape into love knits and dip in egg whites that have been beaten stiff in sugar - coarse sugar from crushed sugar cubes. Bake at 350 degrees.
