1/2 lb. butter, softened, butter tends to burn
2 c. flour
1/2 c. sugar

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Mix butter, sugar and flour with hands until a soft dough is formed. Roll out until 1/4 inch thick. Cut with cookie cutters. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet and bake until slightly browned. Let cool and remove from sheet. These cookies are delicious "as is" or frosted.
