LAYERED HAM & MACARONI SALAD | |
1 1/2 to 2 c. diced, cooked ham 1 c. uncooked elbow macaroni 4 c. shredded iceberg or red leaf lettuce 2 to 3 tbsp. minced red onion 1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen peas, partially thawed 1 1/2 c. mayonnaise 1 1/2 tsp. dill weed 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 c. shredded Swiss cheese 1 can chestnuts, chopped Cook macaroni as directed on package; drain and chill well. In large salad bowl layer lettuce, macaroni, ham, onion and peas. Combine mayonnaise, dill weed and salt; mix well. Spread evenly over top of salad. Sprinkle with cheese. Cover and chill several hour or overnight. Toss just before serving. Makes 6 servings. |
