MACARONI & HAM CASSEROLE 
4 tbsp. butter
1 1/2 tsp. salt
3 c. cooked macaroni
1/2 c. fine dry bread crumbs
1 c. finely chopped, cooked ham
4 tbsp. flour
2 c. milk, scalded
2 c. grated American cheese
1 tbsp. butter

Melt butter in saucepan. Blend in flour and salt. Stir in milk and cook over low heat until mixture boils and thickens. Stir constantly. Add cheese and stir until melted. Put half of macaroni in a well- greased casserole and pour over 1/2 of the sauce, crumbs, melted butter and ham. Add remaining ingredients in same order. Bake 35 to 45 minutes in a moderate oven (350 degrees) until brown. Serves 6.
