BLUE RIBBON SUGAR COOKIES 
1 1/3 c. butter (don't substitute with butter)
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
3 tbsp. milk
4 c. sifted flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt

Cream first 4 ingredients until light and fluffy. Stir in milk. Stir dry ingredients together and blend into creamed mixture. Chill dough. Roll out on lightly floured surface with large round cookie cutter.

Place on greased cookie sheet, center each with pecan or walnut half. Sprinkle with granulated sugar. Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes or longer for a really crisp cookie.
