OATMEAL BREAD 
1 1/2 c. oatmeal (quick kind)
2 1/2 c. boiling water
1 tbsp. shortening
2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. molasses
2 pkgs. dry yeast
5 1/2 c. flour

Mix oatmeal, boiling water and shortening. Let cool; then stir in salt, molasses, yeast and flour. (It gets hard to stir at the end, but it doesn't require kneading, which is nice.)

Separate dough and place in two greased bowls. (Turn dough so all greased, helps keep from getting hard.) Then place in warm spot to rise until doubled, 2 to 4 hours. Put in two greased bread pans. Bake at 350 degrees 40 to 45 minutes. Brush with butter.
