STRAWBERRY TORTE 
3/4 lb. box vanilla wafers
1 c. powdered sugar
1/4 c. butter
1 egg
1/2 c. pecans
1 pkg. frozen strawberries, thawed
1/2 pt. whipping cream

Line bottom of large Pyrex loaf pan with 1/2 of wafers. Cream sugar and butter, add beaten eggs and nuts. Whip until fluffy. Spread over wafers. Layer strawberries on top. Whip cream and sweeten to taste. Spread over berries. Crush remaining wafers and put on top. Chill for 4 hours or overnight. Nuts may be put on top.
