LEMON MERINGUE PIE | |
1 can sweetened condensed milk 1/3 c. lemon juice 1/2 tbsp. grated lemon rind 3 eggs, separated 1/4 c. sugar 1 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar Mix condensed milk, lemon juice, lemon rind and 3 egg yolks well. Place mixture into a prebaked 9 inch pastry shell. To make meringue, add cream of tartar to egg whites and beat until light and fluffy, gradually adding sugar. Spread over pie filling, sealing crust. Bake in 400 degree oven for 3 to 5 minutes or until meringue is golden brown. Chill before serving. |
