PEA AND BEAN SOUP WITH HAM HOCKS 
4 ham hocks
2 med. onions
1 pkg. dry lima beans
1 can peas, drained
1 tbsp. bacon grease
1 tsp. black pepper
Salt to taste
Garlic powder to taste
1/4 tsp. thyme
3 bay leaves
1 sm. head cabbage
6 potatoes, peeled and halved

In large pot put ham hocks, onions, lima beans - add water to about 2/3 of pot - add bacon grease, salt, pepper, garlic powder, bay leaves, thyme - cover and bring to simmer. Cook long until beans and ham hocks are tender. Slow cook. Last 2 hours add cabbage, potatoes and peas. Serve with favorite rolls or bread.
