LAYERED SALAD 
1 head lettuce, torn in bits
1 onion, chopped
1/2 pepper, chopped
4 hard boiled eggs, sliced
6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
1 can water chestnuts, sliced
1 sm. pkg. peas, frozen and uncooked
Salt and pepper to taste

In a 9x13 inch dish layer ingredients in the order given. Salt and pepper. Spread top with 1 cup mayonnaise blended with 1 tbsp. sugar. Then top with 4 oz. grated Cheddar cheese. Refrigerate overnight. Salad is better when well marinated.
