1 broiler fryer (about 3 lbs.), cut in serving size pieces 1 tsp. salt Juice of 1/2 lemon 1/8 tsp. pepper 1/2 c. water 1/2 tsp. paprika 1/4 tsp. each savory and thyme 2 tbsp. salad oil 1 clove garlic, minced 1 med. onion, sliced 1 med. green pepper, seeded and cut in strips #1: Sprinkle chicken with salt, pepper and paprika. Heat oil in skillet. Place chicken skin side down, in hot oil. Brown in skillet for 20 minutes on both sides. #2: Add lemon juice, water, herbs and garlic. Cover, cook 10 minutes. Add vegetables; cover and cook 10 minutes longer or until chicken is tender. Dieter's portion: 1/4 of the chicken and vegetables equals 388 calories. |
