SOPAPILLAS 
4 c. flour
1 tbsp. shortening
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 pkg. yeast
1 tsp. baking powder
1 c. lukewarm water
1 tbsp. sugar
1 c. scalded milk

Combine dry ingredients, cut in shortening, dissolve yeast in water and add to cooled milk. Make a well in dry ingredients and add liquid. Work into dough, roll 1/4 inch thick. Cut and fry in deep fat until golden brown. Serve with fresh honey.
