BOSTON BROWN BREAD 
1/4 c. butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 c. All Bran
1 c. sour milk or buttermilk
1 c. chopped walnuts
1 c. raisins

Grease 9"x5"x3" loaf pan lightly. Cream butter, brown sugar and egg. Sift flour, baking soda and salt. Soak all bran in sour milk. Combine sifted ingredients and bran mixture with the butter mixture. Mix well, adding chopped walnuts and raisins. Pour into prepared loaf pan and bake at 375 degrees. Test for doneness with toothpick. Cool partly in pan, then remove and cool on rack.
