1 3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. peanut butter
1 egg
2 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
48 milk chocolate kisses or stars

Cream sugars, shortening and peanut butter. Add the eggs, milk and vanilla; mix until smooth. Add remaining ingredients and chill the dough for 30 minutes. Roll into 1 inch balls and place on greased cookie sheet. Bake for 12 minutes in 350 degree oven. Remove from oven and immediately press chocolate stars into center of each cookie. Remove from pan and cool.
