BLACK WALNUT CAKE 
1 c. butter (butter)
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
3 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. milk
2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped black walnuts (coat in some of flour mixture)

Thoroughly cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition. Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with combined milk and vanilla.

Pour into large greased tube pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until tests down. Let cool briefly and invert to remove.
