BOLOGNA SANDWICH
Buy some ham or bologna (one pack) and some bread (one loaf) and buy a little jar of mustard. Then you make yourself a bologna sandwich. Put the bread down on the table, put the bologna on it. Spread the mustard on the bologna. Put another piece of bread on the bologna, then eat it with some milk. Then clean up.

Absolutely must be Eckrich brand or Oscar Meyer brand Bologna... (it's called Ba-lo-nie where I come from). Thick sliced is best too. I substitute a store brand condiment called Sandwich Spread instead of mustard. This comfort food at it's best!!

WOW, did this bring back some memories; and a few tears; and some giggles when I realized that I was actually reading; read 18 pages of comments/recipes! I grew up in a small railroad town. To supplement income my dad and I worked weekends for a local rancher. My grandmother packed our lunches which consisted of fried bologna, slathered with Hellman's, between 2 slices of her homemade white bread wrapped tightly in wax paper to keep them fresh and packed tightly in the saddle bags! YUM! Better yet, when there was a little extra income, she would buy dill pickles and peanut butter and grind them up with the bologna and Hellman's, put on her homemade bread! Very Yummy! I actually serve both of these as appetizers and have taken them to several gatherings; funny to see how some people react when they find out what that great appetizer consists of! My family and I still enjoy bologna lunches with or without the PBS and D pickles!

Only one or two slices?? Aw, come on ... put some meat in it! Then load it with lettuce, tomato, onion, etc. Out of bread? Wrap the bologna around a pickle spear, dip in mustard, or whatever.

I like my bologna sandwich with mayo. This high calorie option is much tastier. I also find adding potato chips on top of the mayo added a nice crunch. Don't forget a nice glass of chocolate milk to wash it down.

Well... I can tell most of you are NOT from the South cause if you were you would fry the Bologna, put mustard on one side and mayo on the other then to top it off, you would add a thick slice of Vidalia onion. Now that's a samich...

Warning Professionals Only. This recipe serves 8. Take 16 slices of white bread. Apply Mayo on 8 slices only, then take the other 8 slices and add mustard of your choice. Now take the 8 individual slices and add 1 each to the mustard slices. Take your time do not rush this step. Next take the other 8 slices with the Mayo and put the Mayo side down on top of the bologna. Slice all sandwiches in half. You now have 16 halves, remember to give 2 halves only to your 8 guests.

And only one piece of balogna (my word spell wants to correct balogna to baloney lol:) what does it know anyway!! Love love your site, thank you for the great recipes!!
