3/4 c. butter
3/4 c. sugar
1 egg
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. vanilla

Have all ingredients at room temperature. Dump everything together. Mix with a spoon first and then finish mixing with hands. Make into a slice and bake roll. Wrap in wax paper and store in refrigerator several hours or overnight. Slice about 1/4 inch thick. Put on whatever topping you want. Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
