STREUSEL TOPPING: 
1/3 c. brown sugar
2 tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tbsp. butter, softened
1/3 c. chopped pecans

In medium bowl sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, salt and nutmeg. Stir in apple. Set aside.

In small bowl combine milk, oil and egg until blended. Add to dry ingredients. Stir just until moistened. Spoon 1/2 batter into 12 paper lined muffin cups.

Make topping by mixing all topping ingredients. Sprinkle on muffins (only use 1/2 topping). Cover each muffin with remaining batter then sprinkle on remaining topping. Bake at 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Serve warm for loaf use 8 x 4 x 2 inch loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes.
