MOTHER'S GINGER BREAD 
1 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. cloves
1/4 c. butter
1 c. sour milk
3 c. flour
2 beaten eggs
1 tsp. ginger
1 c. molasses
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. baking soda in boiling water

Cream first 4 ingredients. Add to dry mixture. Last thing before baking, add raisins and nuts (if desired). Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes.
