BUTTERSCOTCH COOKIES AND ICING 
1 1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
3 c. flour
1 tbsp. vinegar in 1 c. canned milk
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix all together. Bake at 350 degrees until lightly browned - about 8 to 10 minutes. (I usually double this recipe).

ICING:

9 tbsp. brown sugar
6 tbsp. canned milk
4 tbsp. butter

Cook for 3 minutes after mixture boils. Thicken with powdered sugar.
