5 eggs 1 tsp. salt 1 (5.5 oz.) pkg. vanilla instant pudding 8 c. flour 1 1/2 c. sugar 1/2 c. melted butter Dissolve yeast. Combine 1/2 cup milk with 2 1/2 cups flour. Add yeast mixture and beat until smooth. Cover and let stand in warm place until light and bubbly. Beat eggs, add sugar, melted butter and pudding mix. Add to risen yeast mixture, add salt. Stir in remaining flour to make a soft dough, knead until smooth and elastic. Put in a greased bowl, cover and let rise until double. Punch down and let rise again. Shape into loaves (makes 6 to 8). Let rise and bake 35 minutes at 275 degrees. A thin frosting can be prepared as icing for the top, then sprinkle with colored sugars for a festive finish. |
