PASKA (Bread) | |
3 c. scalded milk 1/2 tsp. salt 6 eggs, beaten 1/2 c. lukewarm water 1/4 c. sugar 1 c. melted butter 1/2 lg. yeast 12-14 c. flour Scald milk. Add butter, salt and sugar. Cool until lukewarm. Add eggs. Crumble yeast in lukewarm water. Let stand 10 minutes. Add to above. Add flour 2 cups at a time until dough can be handled. Knead 15 minutes on board. Raise 1 1/2 hours. Knead again (15 minutes) and raise for 45 minutes. Shape into 4 loaves and let rise double in bulk and bake 1 hour in 325 degree oven. (You can use this to make crescent rolls if you like.) |
