CHOCOLATE CHUNKY BARS | |
1 c. quick cooking oats 1 c. flour 3/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/4 tsp. salt 3/4 c. butter, melted 1 (12 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet real chocolate chunks 1 c. chopped pecans 1 (12.25 oz.) jar caramel topping (like for ice cream) Combine oats, flour, brown sugar, baking soda and salt; blend in butter. Press in greased 9 x 13 inch baking pan. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 10 minutes. Sprinkle with chocolate chunks and pecans; pour caramel over top. Bake 20 minutes longer. Cool 1 hour at room temperature. Refrigerate, uncovered, until firm. Cut into bars. Makes 48 (1 x 2 inch) bars. |
