GERMAN CHOCOLATE CAKE 
2 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 c. sugar
4 tbsp. cocoa
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. cooking oil
1 tbsp. vinegar
1 1/2 c. cold water
2 tsp. vanilla
Pinch of salt

Sift dry ingredients into a 9 x 13 inch pan. Make 3 holes in dry ingredients. Mix vinegar, oil and vanilla and pour in pan. Pour water in and stir with fork until blended. Don't grease pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

ICING:

1 c. Pet milk
1 c. nuts, chopped
1 c. coconut
1 c. sugar
3 egg yolks or 2 whole eggs
1 stick butter
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Beat egg yolks. Add sugar, milk and butter. Cook until thick, stirring constantly. It will scorch. Remove from heat, add nuts, coconut and vanilla. When cool spread over cake.
