GERMAN CHOCOLATE POUND CAKE 
2 c. sugar
1 block German chocolate, melted
1 c. shortening
4 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. butter flavoring
1 c. buttermilk
3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt

Cream shortening and sugar, add eggs then mixed dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk. Add melted German chocolate. Bake in tube pan 1 1/2 hours at 300 degrees.

ICING:

1 Block German chocolate
1/4 c. water
Vanilla
1 c. confectioners sugar
1 tbsp. shortening

Cook in double boiler until very hot. Pour over warm cake and place in covered container. Let stand 30 minutes without opening. This cake will stay fresh several weeks.
