BUTTER COOKIES AND BROWN BUTTER
ICING
 
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. butter
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. flour (or more)
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. sour cream
2/3 c. nuts, optional

Mix all ingredients together and drop by teaspoon, bake at 350 to 375 degrees for 10 minutes. Makes approximately 5 dozen.

FROSTING:

1/4 c. butter
2 c. powdered sugar
2 or 3 tbsp. boiling water
1/2 tsp. vanilla
Pinch salt

Boil butter until it stops bubbling and cool. Mix in remaining ingredients. Frost cookies while they're warm.
