MOM R'S ICE BOX BROWN BUTTER
COOKIES
 
1 c. melted and browned butter
2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped nuts

Slowly brown butter in fry pan. Butter must browned for flavor. Mix brown sugar and eggs. Add dry ingredients. Add nuts. Form into rolls and wrap in wax paper. Put in refrigerator until chilled. Slice 1/8 to 1/4 inch thick. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes until brown.
