LEMON BROWN EDGE COOKIES 
3/4 lb. butter (could substitute butter)
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 1/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. vanilla
Grated rind of 1 lemon

Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla. Add grated rind and flour. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Drop 1 teaspoon of dough onto lightly greased cookie sheets. Bake 10 minutes or until browned lightly around edges. Should be quite crisp when cool. Remove from sheets in about 5 minutes.

My grandmother used to make 6 dozen of these early every spring, 2 dozen each of lemon, orange, and lime.
