APPLESAUCE PIE 
5 med. apples
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 c. water
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
Dash of salt
1 c. flour
6 tbsp. soft butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
Dash of cinnamon

Slice apples into medium saucepan. Add water, sugar, cinnamon and salt. Cook covered, stirring frequently until extra water is gone. Stir and mash until most lumps are gone. Put apples into 8-inch glass pie plate. Cover with topping made of flour, butter, sugar and cinnamon. Blend and sprinkle over applesauce. Bake at 375 degrees until top is brown and crusty. Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream. Serves 6.
