QUICK YEAST BISCUITS 
1 pkg. dry yeast
2 tbsp. sugar
2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking soda
3 tbsp. shortening
1 tsp. baking powder
1 c. lukewarm buttermilk

Dissolve yeast in buttermilk. Add shortening, then dry ingredients which have been sifted together. (May have to add 1/4 cup flour for consistency desired). Roll and cut as you would biscuits. Place in greased pan and butter tops. Cover with cloth and place in warm place to let rise. If these are made before your meal is started they will be ready to serve with meal. Bake at 375 degrees until done.
