BISCUITS SUPREME 
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
2 tsp. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2/3 c. milk

Sift dry ingredients - cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add milk all at once and stir just until dough follows fork around bowl. Pat and roll 1/2 inch thick. Cut with small size juice glass or cookie cutter. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet 10-12 minutes at 450 degrees.

These are excellent warm with butter and-or honey or jam. Also served with creamed chicken or turkey. If you prefer a shortcake with strawberries that isn't real sweet they are great.
