1 c. Crisco
2 c. sugar
2 c. raisins
2 eggs
2 c. applesauce, thick
4 c. sifted flour
1 1/2 c. chopped nuts
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. allspice
1 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. baking powder

Cream shortening, sugar and spices. Add eggs and beat add applesauce, flour, salt, soda, baking powder and beat well. Add raisin and nuts. Bake in two greased 8 inch square pans. Sprinkle with powdered sugar while warm.
