1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 c. raisins
1 1/2 c. thick applesauce
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. nut meats
2 1/2 c. flour

Cream butter and sugar and egg. Sift dry ingredients several times, add raisins and nuts, applesauce, flour alternately. Bake in greased tube pan at 300 degrees about 50 minutes.
