BEER CAKE 
1 c. shortening
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ground allspice
2 tsp. baking soda
2 c. brown sugar
3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
2 c. beer
1 c. raisins
1 c. walnuts

Cream shortening until soft. Add sugar, beat until light and fluffy. Add all ingredients, except beer. Fruit and nuts should be mixed together, then add with beer to first mixture. Bake 1 hour or until done at 350 degrees in a greased rectangular pan.
