2/3 c. butter
2 eggs
2 1/4 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
3/4 c. buttermilk
1/4 c. cherry juice
2 c. sugar
2 sq. melted bitter chocolate
1 c. beer
1 (8 oz.) bottle maraschino cherries, drain, reserve juice
1/2 c. nuts

Cream butter and sugar together. Add eggs and chocolate; mix well. Sift flour and soda. Add to creamed mixture alternately with beer and buttermilk. Cut cherries in pieces and add cherry juice and nuts. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes in a 9 x 13 inch pan. Frost with cream cheese frosting.
