APPLE PIE 
1 (20 oz.) can sliced apples, undrained
1 (8 inch) double pie crust
1/2 c. sugar
2 tbsp. tapioca
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 tbsp. butter, optional

In large bowl, combine apple slices, sugar, tapioca, cinnamon and nutmeg. Pour into unbaked bottom crust. Dot with butter if desired. Top with vented or lattice crust. Bake at 425 for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 and continue baking 25 to 35 minutes or until crust is golden brown. Serves 6 to 8.

VARIATION: APPLE TARTS:

1 (20 oz.) can sliced apples
Prebaked tart shells
Cinnamon

Arrange apple slices in tart shells. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Bake at 350 for 10 to 15 minutes to heat. Makes 6 to 8.
