Prepare pastry for 2 crust (8") pie 6 c. sliced apples, well drained 1/4 c. brown sugar, firmly packed 1/2 tsp. cinnamon 1/4 tsp. nutmeg 2 tbsp. butter 2 tbsp. flour 1/2 c. sugar 1/4 tsp. salt 2 tsp. lemon juice In a large mixing bowl thoroughly combine all ingredients except butter. Turn apples into pastry lined pie plate, dot with butter and cover with top crust. Make slits for steam to escape; seal and flute. Bake in 425 degree (hot) oven 40-45 minutes or until crust is golden brown. |
