CHERRY TOP CAKE 
1 c. butter
4 eggs
1 3/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. almond flavoring
3 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 can cherry pie filling

Beat butter, eggs, sugar, vanilla and extract until light and fluffy. Blend in the flour, baking powder and salt. Spread in bottom of 9 x 13 inch pan. Save 1 cup. Pour and spread pie filling over the dough. Drop spoonfuls of dough over cherry filling and swirl into the cherry filling. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes.

ICING: Drizzle thin powdered sugar frosting over the cake while still warm. It is better served warm.
