APPLE CRANBERRY CRUMB BARS 
6 tbsp. butter
3/4 c. brown sugar
1 egg
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt

FILLING:

1 tbsp. butter
2 tart apples, peeled and cored carefully, chopped fine
1/2 c. sugar
1 tbsp. flour
1 tbsp. lemon juice
1 tbsp. orange juice
1/2 canned whole cranberry sauce plus 1/4 c. cranberries
Dash of cinnamon

CRUMB TOPPING:

6 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. sugar
3/4 c. flour
Pinch of salt
1/4 c. chopped walnuts

Make bottom layer. Pat dough evenly into an 11 x 7 x 1/2 inch pan. Make filling. Melt butter in saucepan. Add apples; cook until apples are soft. Add remaining ingredients; boil. Reduce heat; cook and stir for 5 minutes. Cool. Make crumb topping. Spread cooled filling over dough. Sprinkle crumb topping over filling. Bake 30 minutes. Place pan on wire rack and cool. Cut into bars.
