BREAD AND BUTTER PICKLES 
30 med. cucumbers, sliced (4 qts.)
6 med. onions, sliced
3 cloves of garlic, sliced
1 red sweet pepper
1 green pepper
1/3 c. salt
5 c. sugar
3 c. distilled white vinegar
1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
3 tbsp. mustard seed
1 1/2 tsp. celery seed

Slice onions and garlic very thin. Slice peppers in narrow strips. Add to cucumbers; add salt. Cover with cracked ice. Let stand 3 hours. Drain off salt water (drain well). Combine other ingredients. heat to good boiling point. Put into sterilized jars.
