BOSTON BROWN BREAD 
1 c. coarsely chopped dates
1/2 c. coarsely chopped walnuts
1 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
2 eggs, beaten
3/4 c. molasses
2 tbsp. oil
3/4 c. buttermilk

Sift flour, baking soda and salt into a large bowl. Stir dates (you can substitute raisins) and nuts. Beat eggs, molasses, oil and buttermilk thoroughly, then stir gradually into flour mixture. Pour into 2 greased and floured 9 inch loaf pans and bake 1 hour at 350 degrees. Makes 2 loaves.
