PASTRIES - KRISTIN KRINGLES 
PART 1:
1 c. flour
2 tbsp. water
1/2 c. butter

Mix as pie crust, put half on cookie sheet, press into 2 to 3 inch strip lengths of sheet.

PART 2:

In saucepan bring to a boil: 1/2 c. butter 1 c. flour

Stir until smooth. Add 1/4 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. almond extract

Spread on top of first mixture. Bake at 375 degrees for 15 minutes, turn down to 300 degrees for 30 minutes more. Spread with powdered sugar frosting, add slivered almonds on top.

ICING:

2 tbsp. butter
1/2 pkg. powdered sugar
2 tbsp. warm milk
1/4 tsp. almond extract
Instant coffee, if you like Mocha flavor
