MACADAMIA NUT CREAM PIE | |
1 baked pastry shell, 9 inch 1/2 c. sugar 1/4 c. cornstarch Pinch salt 3 egg yolks 2 c. milk 1 tbsp. butter 2 c. Cool Whip, divided 3 tbsp. Kahlua 1/2 c. macadamia nuts, chopped, plus 1 tablespoons Beat sugar, cornstarch, salt and egg yolks in small bowl until very well mixed. Heat milk but do not boil. Stir sugar mixture into hot milk, put back on heat, cook stirring until it thickens and bubbles, about 3 minutes. Remove from heat, stir in butter. Cover and refrigerate until cold. Fold in 1 cup Cool Whip, Kahlua and all but 1 tablespoon nuts. Spoon into shell. Chill overnight. Spread remaining Cool Whip on top and sprinkle with remaining nuts. |
