FRIENDSHIP LEMON NUT BREAD | |
1/3 c. butter 1 c. sugar 2 eggs, beaten 1 1/2 c. flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. salt 1/2 c. milk 1 lemon rind, grated (optional) 1/2 c. nuts 1/3 c. sugar Juice of 1 lemon Cream butter and sugar; add beaten eggs. Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt. Add to creamed mixture. Blend in milk and grated lemon rind. Add nuts. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes. Cool for 5 minutes. Combine 1/3 cup sugar and juice from lemon. Pour over top of loaf. Cool and remove from pan. |
