OLD SOUTH POUND CAKE 
4 c. all purpose flour
10 lg. eggs
3 1/2 c. sugar
1 lb. butter, softened
1 heaping tbsp. cornstarch
1 tsp. vanilla flavoring

Grease a 10" tube pan well; dust pan lightly with flour, shaking to remove excess flour. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

Cream sugar and butter; add cornstarch. Beat until mixture changes color. Alternately add eggs and flour until all are used. Add vanilla flavoring until blended. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 1 hour. Increase temperature to 350 degrees and bake for 15 minutes more. Remove from oven and let cake cool in pan 5 or 10 minutes. Remove from pan, place cake on plate and cover. Cake will steam slightly.
