SUZANNE'S ENGLISH TOFFEE | |
1 c. white sugar 1 c. butter 1 tbsp. water 1 tsp. vanilla 1 lg. bag semi-sweet chocolate chips Finely chopped walnuts Combine sugar, butter and water in heavy saucepan and cook to 300 degrees or hard crack stage, stirring constantly. Add vanilla. Pour into buttered cookie sheet. Cool slightly. Sprinkle with chocolate chips and spread with a knife as chocolate melts. Sprinkle with chopped nuts. Cool. Break into pieces when hard. |
